The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Forest Park, Illinois is accepting appointment(s) to the position of firefighter/paramedic with the Forest Park Fire Department.
Will be hiring 1 immediately.
Staffing rotation - only 4 shifts a month on the ambulance!!
Salary: $64,931.94 - $99,969.84 (does not include holiday pay, stipends, or education pay)
Paramedic Stipend: 2.75% of top FF pay ($2,749.17)

All Applicants Must Meet the Following Minimum Requirements established by the Village of Forest Park:
- At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at time of written examination (January 18, 2024), except per Illinois Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6. Proof of date of birth is required;
- U.S. Citizenship;
- No felony convictions;
- High school graduate or GED equivalent;
- Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record;
- Possess a valid Paramedic License from the Illinois Department of Public Health - (IDPH) (at time of offer of conditional employment);
- Present a valid CPAT card with Ladder Climb with your application with an issue date within 12 months of the date of the application deadline (January 8, 2024) -AND- CPAT card must also be valid at time of hire;
- Must successfully pass a written examination with a score of 70% or better;
- Must successfully complete an oral interview, background investigation, medical examination, drug testing, polygraph, and psychological examination;
- Pay a $25.00 non-refundable application processing fee.
Preference Points will be awarded by the Village of Forest Park and will follow the Illinois Firefighter Hiring Act.
Submission of Application: Applications MUST be submitted online by Monday, January 8, 2024 at 4:00 PM (CST). Faxed, e-mailed, mailed or dropped off applications will NOT be accepted. Applications submitted after the deadline will NOT be accepted. Only one application per person, per testing cycle will be accepted.
On-line Written Examination Testing: Following completion of all application materials and review of minimum qualifications, successful applicants will be invited to participate in remote on-line written exam testing available between Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 9:00 AM and Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 4:00 PM. Candidates will need to have access to a laptop or desktop computer. All candidates will receive an email approximately one week prior regarding their status in the process, along with further instructions for taking the on-line written exam. NOTE: Please be sure to check your email spam folder. Many email account providers automatically send our emails there in error (i.e. Google, Yahoo, etc.).
