The Board of Police Commissioners of the Village of Minooka, Illinois is accepting applications for Full Time Certified Police Officer Lateral Applicants with the Minooka Police Department.
Lateral Salary: $73,000 (depending on years of service; contract under negotiation)
Benefits: Supportive community and village board, pension over 90% funded, 11 days holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, specialty pay and opportunities, 12-hour work schedule, uniforms/equipment supplied upon hire, and no residency.
Special assignments: Detective, SRO, K9 Handler, Drone Operator, Will/Grundy/Kendall Major Crime task force, Kendall County Special Response Team, Grundy County Pro-Act, ILEAS MFF team, Honor Guard

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the Village of Minooka:
- Currently employed for at least two (2) years as a full-time, sworn law enforcement officer by a State, County, University, or local law enforcement agency. Applicants must be in good standing with the agency in which they served. (NOTE: Part-time certification does NOT meet this requirement);
- Must have completed the State of Illinois certified police officer training board requirements;
- Be a US citizen;
- Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent;
- Possess a valid State of Illinois driver's license;
- Must agree to comply with all requirements of the position and have the ability to pass all examination and training requirements, including, but not limited to: background investigation, psychological, and medical examination, etc.;
- No felony convictions;
- Pay a $20.00 non-refundable application processing fee.
Preference Points will be awarded for military, education, and member of Minooka Police explorer program.

Mandatory Next Steps in the Hiring Process:
Remote On-line Written Examination Testing: Following completion of all application materials and a review of minimum qualifications, successful applicants will be invited to participate in remote on-line written exam testing. Testing will occur approximately once per month and you will be able to take the exam at your convenience during a 3-4 day window. You must take the exam within the time frame you are given. Candidates will need to have access to a laptop or desktop computer. All candidates will receive an email approximately one week prior regarding their status in the process, along with further instructions for taking the on-line written exam. NOTE: Please be sure to check your email spam folder. Many email account providers automatically send our emails there in error (i.e. Google, Yahoo, etc.).
